It is said in the Skanda Purana that a person who worships Kamalapati in Shravan is not born in the womb forever.

The greatness of Shravan and the new moon of Chitalagi

The lunar month of Shravan is known as the Chitalagi New Moon.  It is an agricultural festival.  During this menstrual period, the doors of every Oriya house are beautifully decorated and painted.  In Biri, Nadia, Rice, Gud, women make cheetah cakes.  The leopard cake made of ghee is soaked in hot milk and softened.  Farmers worship the leopard cake by offering offerings in the fields during the new moon.  After the puja, the cake is buried in a beehive.  It is believed that leopards are best harvested during the new moon.  Some call this new moon a leopard new moon.
To the great Lord for the gem leopard
In the temple of Lord Shree Gannath, special rituals are performed on the occasion of the Chitalagi New Moon.  On this day, Thakur enjoys leopard cakes.  On the night of the bathing procession from the heads of the lords, the gemstone leopard, which had been torn off by the devotees at night, resurfaced on this day.  Daita servants wear this leopard.  Shri Jagannath's cheetah is the main gemstone diamond, Shri Balabhadra's blue and Maa Subhadra's jewel.  Along with this main gem, the leopard also contains other gems like gold.  After the noon incense of the new moon, the leopards bring the leopards from the storehouse and put them on.  On this occasion, the Kotha Swansiya servant prepares the medicine.  The medicine is a kind of glue that allows the gemstones to stick to Thakur's body all year round.
 Why does Gendeisuni worship?

During the Chitalagi New Moon, the daughters of the peasant Oriya peasant families worship their father, brother Mangal Manasi Gandeisuni.  There is a fear of amputation of the rhinoceros while the water in the beel is working in the mud.  The rhinoceros, which cuts off its feet, wounds like a knife.  As a result, those who cut off their feet may not be able to work for long periods of time.  If the farmer sits at home during farming, there is a fear that the farm will be destroyed.  So the girls hold the leopard cake in their hands and sing it, slicing it into ditches, ponds and bees and throwing leopard cakes.  The girls pray to Gendeisuni through their songs.  Their father worships his brother so that he will not be cut off.  There is a scientific reason for this.  The smell of ghee and milk goes away.  Throwing the leopard cake into the beehive leaves the beetles out of the beehive and keeps the farmer safe.
