Swastika is a holy sign and symbol from thousands of years ,distributed throughout the ancient and modern world. It is derived from Sanskrit word 'Suastike' -Here  'Su' means good and 'Astike' means to exist ; Means "may good prevail".

In Hinduism  the symbol with arms pointing clockwise  is called 'swastika'; symbolising Surya(Sun) meaning prosperity and good luck, while the anticlockwise symbol is called 'sauvastika'; symbolizing night or trantic aspects of Kali.

It also represents well being for all and the circular nature of its point represents the repetitive nature of reincarnation.
If you dram a circle around it,it symbolises  the sun god- Surya,as the ultimate source of light, heat and energy in the whole universe in all the direction.

The four arms of it represents the four main directions- north, south, east and west. It also represents the constantly changing world which evolves around an unchanging centre-God.

It is drawn on the gates to prevent houses from evil eyes.

The symbol is found in the archeological remains of the Indus Valley Civilization and Mesopotamian civilization as well as in early Byzantine and Christian work.
It is used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian sub continent including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Also an ancient religious icon the cultures of Eurasia- used approximately  7000 years ago there, perhaps representing the movement of the sun throughout the sky.

It was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck in the western world until the 1930s,but in the reign of Hitler,it became a feature of Nazi symbolism as a emblem of the Aryan race. Today also, after so many years, many people strongly relate it with Nazism.

According to the Russian archeologist Gennady Zdanovich,Swastik was used in Sintashta culture. It symbolises the universe representing the spinind constellations of the celestial north pole centred in a constellation like Ursae Minoris.

In Iran,it is called 'Garduneye Khorshid' (the circling of the sun). It is also a symbol of Zoroastrianism.

According to the Korean sayings, thr lines of the swastika serve as a symbol for two separate truths intersected with one another. The horizontal line acts as a symbol of truth remaining eternal and vertical line means truth for all the creatures of Earth.

The symbol existed in East Asia since the Liao dynasty (AD 907-1125) and is an important and prominent image for Buddhists to this day.
