Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, devotees weren't  allowed to Shrimandira since 9 months. All devotees are satisfying themselves only by having a glimpse of Shri Patitapabana through various sources like Media and Social medias.

The east entrance of Shrimandira is known as Singhadwara. Most devotees enter Shrimandira through this entrance. After walking around 20 feet from the door of Singhadwara, one would find the idol of Patitapabana on his right. The idol is attached to the wall of the Mukhashala and a beautiful temple houses the idol.On the temple, three idols have been carved, showing three men praying to Shri Patitapabana.Infront of them, three trees have been carved. The structure of the temple is similar to a Peedha Deula architecture. Some birds have been carved on the roof of the temple, while a Dashabatara Patti adorns the top of the front door of this mini temple.

The idol of Shri Patitapabana is made of resin(Osua) and has striking resemblance to the main idol of Shri Jagannatha on Ratnasinghasana.Shri Sudarshan and Shridebi have also been placed near him.

Historical Facts
The Gajapati of Bhoi Dynasty,Ramachandra Deva was defeated by a Muslim invader named Sujaa Khan in the 18th century. He was forced to marry Sujaa Khan's daughter and convert to Islam for the sake of the safety of Utkala and Shrimandira .
Due to this change of religion, the king was barred from entering Shrimandira.
The king had a depressed state of mind because of this. So, he got the idol of Patitapabana installed at the entrance of Shrimandira so that he and millions of other devotees like him, who couldn't enter the temple, would be able to catch a glimpse of Shri Patitapabana and pay obeisances to him.
